Living life in the best art gallery on earth.

I got really excited today when it hit me... I am now living in the best art gallery on earth! The works of art are in the forms of advertisements. New York is the center of the world when it comes to advertising, it is everywhere and is done very well.  I enjoy as I take the subway there is a group of advertisements for Ben and Jerry's reading "We married ice cream and hot fudge together- don't worry it's legal in Vermont." Taxis passing  by on the streets with the Snickers campaign  on top, "Snaxi, Take a Field Trip to the Peanutarium, Peanutopolis," so I guess I am going to have to learn to speak "Snacklish."   The Pepsi ads in Times Square, I am like a kid in a candy store in New York City- an endless supply of great ads to think about, figure out what the strategy is, search the agency -who did it, apply to the agency who did it, ect....   I love the marriage of  advertising and new york city!

The start of something great!

I am here- my first night in the city as a resident and no longer a guest! It has been a super long day, I am going on about 39 hours without sleep but this city gives you the energy to keep going. I love this place! Everything around you gives you strength.

Now it is time for business- job hunting! I feel sorry for the ones who do not give me a chance, it will only come back to them. I am ready! Watch out.

"I want to wake up in the city that never sleeps
To find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap
These little town blues
Are melting away
I'll make a brand new start of it
In old New York
If I can make it there
I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you, New York, New York."

Leaving on a jet plane.

Some advice form Dr. Seuss, "Oh, the Places you'll Go!" on my new adventures in The Big Apple.

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

You have brains in your head.
Your have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.

(skipped a few pages)

You'll get mixed up, of course,
as you already know.
You'll get mixed up
with many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact
and remember that Life's
a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And NEVER mix up your right foot with your left.

And will you succeed?
Yes, You will, indeed!
(98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)

KID, YOU'LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!
